1 thing you are not useless, youve realised you have a problem and aretryng to sort it out, family members that are ignoring your pleas are more useless than you and shows you are actually stonger than them which inturn will show you can achieve much more if you face your problems. i believe it is much better to have family acknowledge the problem so could you not sit them down talk to them in full detail. if they still show ignorance dont let it get you down carry on with your fight and show them you overcome it without their support. i have an AA woman who has offered to take me to meetings and even though i have family support i still feel the need to come on here as everyone on here relates to each other one way or another ands its much more helpful than just family support, any question you ask youll get a response straight away an its ovewhelming with the support you get from here

Take a look at this site...Call the number you need to call...Tell them you need to get to a meeting or you might drink...You'll be at a meeting. That's how AA works.

I am not worth it I am not bothering people. My family cant give a **** why would anyone else/
I'm glad you called your sponsor
D
Innerchild, that's good. I wish I had a sponsor. I've not found the courage to ask anyone yet.
And you are not alone. We're here for you. We understand. We care. Why? Because you're a fellow human being. More than that, we've been where you are.
Whether your family care or not - and I'm not going to argue about that - they almost certainly don't understand. My mother, who loves me very much, simply does not get it. When I told her how going to AA meetings was keeping me away from the drink, she just replied that 'Well, you can have one later.' She often tells me that 'One drink won't hurt.'
Well, if it was going to be just one, maybe it wouldn't. But evidence says it won't be one.
Anyway, I digress. You can beat this. You have the tools to do it. And you're using them, so well done.
