Talking What's a few pixels between us?

Ever try explaining SR to others?

Ever think you could hear the joy and pain of those that post?

Ever imagine that all around the world we would find a singular voice?

There are other places on the web that you could post about your struggles and troubles.

You might even get a response back.

I find it quite amazing that I have in my mind an image of each of you. I know what you look and sound like...to me.

When I read your posts I hear your voice. A stern voice at times. And when needed most a kind voice.

I put the clues as to who you are together by the few identifying characteristics of you profile ... Avatar.... Quote.

Yet still I know you.

We could maybe fool 1 or a few of our friends and family. But we could never fool the many at SR.

That level set is what makes this work!

And i am grateful!

Definately ditto
I think we should all draw a picture of ourselves and use it as our avatar. That would give us more of an idea, but keeping the anonimity x

I am Floyd the Muppet so that problem's solved

I feel I was drawn here to SR...even back in 2007 there were many recovery websites...I've checked out a few others over the years...most are very good in their way but none quite spoke to me like this one does

I'm happy and proud to be a member of this community

Ahhhh Floyd! I always thought you were Animal!
Have to re-think my 'mental image' of Dee now.

Don't mind me... I'm just a little big-eared doggy!
(The bigger one in the picture is a male)

I think I was meant to find SR the day I did. Everytime after I drank, I'd usually be sick as a dog, looking online for help. Then one day in April I logged on and typed in something, don't even know what it was, the first site came up was SR. I had never in all my past searches online seen this SR. Usually, I don't sign up for things, this time I gave it no thought and I started that day. This community has really helped me with my anxiety and being able to reach out more. Whatever caused me to stumble on this site, I am so grateful...I have not had a drink since...thanks everyone for being here!

I don't know how I ended up on this site...I was five months sober when I got here...I haven't had a drink since then either.

Whoaaa! Guys! There other recovery sites?????

Well said! Ditto!

I was freaked out one night at about a week out of detox and could not find anywhere to tell me I was not about to die of my PAWS. And here I met up with the old "we can't give medical advice," and Dee, who started out doing a reprise of Hal in 2001, was able to let me know that many folks do get that PAWS symptom by referring me to the Paws articles. I was itching all over and my skin dried out! I imagined him as an animal too, but mixed up with that eye of HALs in the movie. Once I calmed down this is what I actually saw!

I'll have you know, I'm quite a bit thinner than I appear on these forums. And, um, good looking, too. With a splendid physique. And um, a really deep voice, like, a powerful tenor. Yup, that's me

Glad I could clear that up.
