Welcome Day 2

Well here's day 2 and thanks to the huge wealth of knowledge and support here, I'm feeling great! We can all do this! I know we can! In a couple of days I know it's going to be tough for me. I was on day 6 when I crashed and burned this week. So....you'll hear from me each day. I believe your support is what I need to actually break free! God bless you all!!

FF, are you attending AA meetings?

All the best.

No I am not and I don't feel that I can either.

We'll have to see what we can do about getting past day six...But first...Just take care of not drinking today....That's all that counts...I had a councelor in rehab tell me...."Don't pick up and do the next right thing...That's all you got to do."
I asked him what he meant about doing the next right thing....He said if I'm walking down the street and I see a candy wrapper on the sidewalk...Pick it up and throw it out...If I see an older lady struggling with her groceries in the parking lot...Offer to help her...Always be looking for the next right thing to do...And don't pick up the first drink...That was his advice to me....I'll pass it on to you.

Great advice Sapling. Keep us updated FF. Really work hard to bust through that first week.

i completely agree with what sapling had said.

do not drink today. the days of sobriety will start stringing together and if you never pick up the first drink, you'll never have to post about "day 1" :) ... be safe and strong.

You had 5 days of success! Do not forget about those and restart the clock. Just keep chugging along!! You're doing great!

Fancy, I'm glad you're glad doing well. :)

You can and will break free of the addiction. I'm glad you're posting.

I can only add to that "with the help of a Higher Power".

If I could do it by myself I would have done it a long time ago.

All the best.
