First Day
This is my first day of trying to stay sober. I have been binge drinking every day for the last six months while lying and hiding it. This is my alcoholic behavior and I can't live in denial any more about the fact that I can't have even one drink.
I need to hear the message of sobriety. Please pray for me that I don't pick up a drink and I will pray for you too.

Glad you are here aux!
Have you gotten your doc in on the detox? If you aren't sure how to proceed you could go to an AA meeting. Even if that turns out not to be for you long term, they will have all the local referrel places and people and can help you get hooked up. You'll also make some great friends and may find it is perfect for you. Just keep posting here and make sure you can get to the ER at the least as detox can be life threatening and is best done with a doc's supervision, and they have drugs to make it easier too. I hope this time is the last time for you as my last time quitting was.

I will pray that you will find inside of you the will and strength to know that you can do this, and you will do this, because you must do this. This is a journey, and it will start with you doing the next thing first. What is that next thing going to be? Are you ready to make a plan about using alcohol again?
You are doing the right thing, you can do it! If it gets rough just come on back to SR and talk to somebody or read through the new posts, it helps keep things in perspective.
Remember, 'this too shall pass' .. get past that first few days and it gets better from then on

i am very glad to see you get where alcohol is gonna take you.n now, lets see, the message of sobriety...hhhmmm...
welp, for me, sobriety was more than just not drinking. thats just dry. one definition of sober is not effected by alcohol physically, emotionally, or mentally. so, i had to put in a lot of footwork to change my thinking and find out what makes me tick. it took T.I.M.E., but i eventually became sober and it was well worth the fight and footwork.
seein how ya pray, i am gonna take a guess in that you believe in God. He was THE one that gave me the power to get sober.
prayers yer way,too!!

withdrawal on xanax and loritab
I just got out of the hospital from accidentally overdosing on xanax and loritabs. My family thought I was dead and so did the doctor. I was unconscious for 5 days and the doctor told my family I was brain dead and there was no hope. I would be a vegetable the rest of my life in a long term treatment facility. The next morning I woke up, knowing everyone, but hallucinating. The problem now is I am craving that hig from xanax. My boyfriend is trying to help me but nothing seems to work. What is the best way to get through the withdrawals?
Hey Aux,
I and most will agree that you have made a very positive step towards recovery by what you are doing.
Will keep you in my prayers for sure. Just think of all the positive that can come from this! Remember, progress, not perfection, is the name of the game.

Hopping everything is working out Aux.
Welcome to the forums of SoberRecovery tamrbuh.
I would strongly suggest following a doctors advice with your detox.
My benzo detox's (been through a few) were nasty but I just went through them. I used some OTC med,s for the cramps, pains and vitamins, lots of water. Its hard to kick benzo's yet it can be done.

I completely agree with you Zencat. Probably some of the most uncomfortable sensations I have ever experienced, but I did get through it. Time was slow but it did eventually pass.
