Well done, Dan, that sober straight muscle gets stronger every time. I focus after a situation like that on my feeling of accomplishment and self satisfaction, trying to make that association in my subconscious. A big pat on the back, if you will. So, give yourself one giant Hearty Atta Boy, you deserve it.

OCDDan 06-23-2012 01:41 PM

that's funny, I was just thinking the samething how i feel better now after that ordeal, thanks, hopefully things will keep getting better.

Are these offers coming to you from
other people? Friends? Aquaintances?

or....

Are these voices of temptations in your
head? Mind? Brain? :)

OCDDan 06-23-2012 02:06 PM

the first one, people.

The Lord's Prayer says "Lead us not into temptation" ....

You're saying "Never mind, I can find it myself".

You weren't practicing social skills, you were playing Russian Roulette.

Best of luck to you.

Bob

That sounds exhausting Dan! Do these people know that you've quit? Well done for saying no though! I have one friend who I just can't see because they are constantly smoking pot/taking amphetamines/drinking and can't comprehend what I'm doing at all. They don't necessarily sound like helpful people to be around right now x

I tried pretty hard not to put myself in those kinds of situations for a while Dan.

I saw a sig here the other day - when you leave the lions den you don't go back for your hat...y'know? :dunno:

You came out unscathed this time. Find new "people," new playgrounds. Your old ones are just going to get you in trouble.

you're absolutely right Bob, I knew it was a bad idea. there was no good reason to go there, but the reason i went was a friend asked me to help him move something with my truck, i ended up where i shouldn't of been, thanks for your post, i do believe you are right, a little bit of the wrong substance and i'd be goin crazy again, no dought about it.

Hevyn 06-23-2012 07:51 PM

Good job on making it over those hurdles, Dan. It's so risky, but you made it.

nonblondechef 06-24-2012 03:43 AM

Wow - and I thought politely declining a wine list at dinner was an accomplishment!

miko67 06-24-2012 03:53 AM
