First sober birthday.... In way to long.
First sober birthday.... In way to long.
I have seen others post how they experienced their first sober birthday. Today is mine.
Gatefullness fills my heart.
I am mindful of the many before that I was not.
Three were spent high on crack.
A dozen more spent drunk.
I can still remember what it was like when I had them sober. I was much younger. But still always the introspective person.
I choose to balance my introspective nature with the pure joy of sobriety.
SR and all of you have helped me stay sober many more days than in the last ten years.
Thanks!
Time to celebrate with a nice dinner and walk by the water!
Best to you all!
Ken

Happy Birthday! Sobriety rocks! When I speak of sober birthday I am talking about the anniversary date that I quit drinking. I think that what others mean here too. Well I do anyway. For my 2 year sobriety birthday my church gave me a Happy Birthday Cake. It was awesome and so special. May you have many more (all of them) sober Happy Birthdays in both sense of the phrase. :day1 :day6
Yay, you, Ken! I am still in my first year of sobriety, and there are a lot of new annual events that I am experiencing for the first time sober, just like you. So far and without exception, they have all been a revelation and a joy. I hope you find the same thing too.
A sober Happy Birthday to you, Weasel. Sobriety is a pretty good gift in itself!
