AV: "Here you are sitting with a friend watching the Preakness. You always drink when you watch the races. And look at him he is relaxing with drinks. How about you? You worked hard today. It'd be a rare treat. A reward."

ME: "All baloney. I have watched many races without a drink. And my friend is not relaxing; he is drinking but it is revving him up. I did work hard today and I don't need a drink to prove that to myself or to make it finer. And... sobriety is my reward!!"

Mine tried to tell me that somehow drinking over my situation with major car repairs would somehow help or make me feel better.

Sober tonight and very very grateful.

Haven't heard from mine since I quit.
I hate alcohol and the way it makes me feel.

It is seriously no fun anymore.

Mine told me today, are you really never going to drink or use something to relax? To forget about the world/your issues? Maybe pot would be a good substitute. Good grief! I don't even smoke pot! Go away! I'm done!!!

Today mine patiently asked me when I plan on returning to being normal.

Well, never, I guess. But sober sure beats normal.

So so cunning

Someone just told me not to start off being negative and did that make my Addiction angry and rigtheous or what!!! So if people are seeing me as negative it means I can slip, can't I - ha ha - good one and truly an eye opener - addiction was still fuming when I found this post and now addiction has been sent packing to sulk on it's own.:rotfxko

"There is no way you can get through this extreme stress that will be ongoing without drinking. NO WAY!"

ME: "There will be a way or else all I've done in sobriety will be undone. If I have to cry, kick and scream my way through to not drink then that is what I will do. If people hate me then so be it"

You could probably take temazepam to help you sleep. Sleep is important.

I could probably have one glass of champagne at the Bolshoi ballet on Wednesday.

One day you'll grow out of addiction....
