Wink Pizza and happiness

Feels good to not drink tonight. Instead of rushing my son off to the sitter so I could go to a bar, we went to a pizza place instead. We had fun, played games, and laughed. I found something we could do every week for me it's one of the most wonderful distractions from drinking I have ever had. How could I have chose to drink instead of this for so long? I am almost at two weeks.

Great post. I have three little monsters of my own, and my favorite thing about being sober is the quality time I've been spending with them. Game nights, spontaneous frozen yogurt outings, evening bike rides ... There's a whole new world that opens up just from being sober. It's a huge motivator.

Good for you! I didn't get sober until my kids were in their teens and regret that cause having so much fun with them now. Take care and have fun!

Wow- your post really spoke to me! It's been 2 weeks for me too, last Friday I took my boys (8 and 2) to the park and played with them. This Friday we went to the store, then out for dinner and ice cream, then watched the fireflies on the way home. How did I miss all this? How did I think drinking was better than this? I'm so grateful for today, and being clear headed enough to enjoy these moments before they're gone. Congrats on the 2 weeks
