Once I made the decision to never drink again, I realized that I never had to do the rotten miserable things that alcoholics do ever again. No hiding, lying, sneaking, feeling sick, worrying about it, and on and on, never again.
It was this thought that gave me the boost to stick with it until I learned new patterns and associations. It turned into a feeling of great relief that this mess was finally over and done with.
