are these "things" called feelings?

... I guess I am ready to experience them as human beings do. I do not wish to drug myself anymore when I have a bad day, if I feel like crying, then I will cry, if I feel like laughing (someday) then I will laugh... and if I feel like dancing, then I will dance!

G-d knows I cried after binges and "hurting" my loved ones, I laughed when I was drunk with my buddies... I will not be afraid to experience these emotions when I am sober. Digging myself out will not be easy, but I will do it sober.

Recovery is a process and we have to go through the process.

When asked in the past how I felt, my standard answer was "All f#$ked up" as not only couldn't I handle my emotions & feelings but I really couldn't even name them.

As I went to meetings and listened to the others work their way through the fog I began to be able to "name it and claim it" as my own feelings and emotions. It takes time but it will come to pass.

Thank God for my sponsor and the AA oldtimers for allowing me to begin to grow up in their presence.

All the best.

The laughter is more theraputic and the tears are more cleansing when experienced sober. Cry it out, laugh it out, and put on your dancing shoes, sober life is wonderful because it is real.
