Very first post/emotional
Hello,
This is my very first post. Hope I'm doing it correctly.
I am glad to be awake throughout the day for my girls and not take a nap hoping that they will leave me alone.
I'll be glad when the headache stops...

Welcome MightyIsis -
I know that feeling...... So many days I woke up dreading the day and hoping people would leave me alone. I'm a mom, too, so I know what you're talking about.
I'm glad you reached out today - we're here to offer support!:ghug3

Welcome Mighty. Most of us felt pretty antisocial the first several days off the drink. It's a miserable time but it will get better. Just keep putting one foot in front of the other. When it feels like it's too much and you start wondering about the payoff, look here and read what the people with months and years of sobriety have to say. It's worth working for and all that work pays off! We're here for you. Just remember to come to us first. ((Hugs))

MightyIsis...yes...the first few days can be very rough emotionally, physically and, well, I isolated as much as I could.
But the important thing is to get these initial days under your belt. Can someone help you with the kids while you are going through this? Have you consulted a doctor?
I gleaned from your post that you were going through initial detox with only your kids there and I would hope you could get some support.
Welcome to SR. SR has helped keep me sober for 615 days.

Hi Mighty
Hope the headache is a little better today.
Well done on your first post. I'm only into my 2nd day so probably in about the same position as you. I can so relate to what you're saying about wanting a nap and to be left alone. That's when I started to think I can't carry on like this, this is so unfair on my youngest It's a difficult thing to admit but here's hoping we can change things from now on for the better.
