When I know I have to. I am an alcoholic and I need help. Nothing in my life matters more right now than staying sober

Welcome on board dude, it's really nice to meet you Believe me, it's better on this side. Hard, but soooo much better. And god knows you're in the right place. What are you going to do next?

It's only when I could really say to myself that I was totally f>>>>> and that everything I had done had failed, that the change happened.

That's right about where I was when I surrendered to AA.

All the best.

Welcome to SR!

Definitely, as others have said and I recently experienced, finally admitting to yourself with the utmost conviction and honesty that you are an alcoholic is a huge step. Like Dee, I felt like a huge weight had been lifted, and felt free to start recovery with no shame. Stay strong!
