Completed my fourth step today

It was difficult and draining, but I feel a bit better now.

I'll go over it with my sponsor this week. I'm sure there will be more work to do on it but I was as thorough and honest as I could possibly be.

My sponsor tells me "god honors effort". If I do my best, and obviously my best is never perfect, then god will take care of the rest.

Congrats, anxious to hear how the fifth goes, there are some truly awesome promises that follow the fifth step.

Our liquor was but a symptom. So we had to get down to causes and conditions.

That's awesome john44....It takes a lot of courage to take that step. I really enjoyed doing my fifth step with my sponsor...Finding out what made me tick....And drink....Was an amazing feeling. Have a great fifth step...Here are the fifth step promises....

Big Book page #75:

• Once we have taken this step, withholding nothing, we are delighted.
• We can look the world in the eye.
• We can be alone at perfect peace and ease.
• Our fears fall from us.
• We begin to feel the nearness of our Creator.
• We may have had certain spiritual beliefs, but now we begin to have a spiritual experience.
• The feeling that the drink problem has disappeared will often come strongly.
• We feel we are on the Broad Highway, walking hand in hand with the Spirit of the Universe.

Those are the promises I was talking about! Sounds so wonderful, who would not want to feel the nearness of their creator, or to have that feeling of peace and comfort with experiencing the insanity slip away.

This was the one that hit home for me....

The feeling that the drink problem has disappeared will often come strongly.

I don't even know how many days it was...It just dawned on me....I haven't even thought of a drink in awhile.....That's pretty fricken amazing.
