My only happy father's day was from my auto mechanic--no relative
Seven step kids and heard from none. I didn't just drink myself away, I drank my family away. I thought about my dad a lot today. He died sober but from alcoholic complications. I was sad but not bitter, I made my choices and I'll live with them. There aren't any do overs but there are always fresh starts. I love them all and regret those things I did but I did them and I'll live with them, not a lot of options here. Man alcoholism is a family dis-ease. I pretended my actions and my life were my actions and my life but its like throwing a rock in a pond, it just ripples out. No more rock throwing for this old man. For all you dad's Happy Father's Day, happy being relative (pun intended). My best to all.

I would like to wish you a Happy Fathers Day!! Living life sober is the best way to move forward. We all have regrets and they hurt....we can't take those back, but we can be proud of the people we've become today. I'm sure proud of you!
