Seven Days Sober
So, today marks the seventh day in which I am sober. I am so happy and very scared as I think about a life without alcohol. The difference today than day one is that I know it is actually possible. I am working on my steps (something I never really did before) and avoiding situations that might make me drink. I am happy to be here today. Last night I had a moment where I wished I was at a 90 day mark, but then I realized that one day is enough. I woke up feeling fine and even helped a friend out who had locked her keys in her car, something I could have never done if hungover or still drunk. I prayed last night, something I haven't done in a while. I am accepting who I am...finally. I am so grateful for this site it has been a huge source of strength for me. Thank you to everyone here. Here's to another week. *raises cup of coffee, cheers.

Hi KMC,
I'm quite new here. That's brilliant that you have a week sober, i am still struggling to get there (four days here, two days there..) but have done it before and know how it feels. It's amazing how much simpler things become without the alcohol fog.
I sincerely hope that you go from strength to strength..
Gonna check out an AA meeting this week.
All the best

Congrats you are correct today is the most important day to each of us, if we don't stay sober today we just don't stay sober! Staying sober one day at a time is when we build time, keep the focus on today which is good. Congrats, you were even helpful, God Bless you!
