A Novel

I've got 48 days today (my longest ever), and feeling like a different person. I spent the last six years working on a novel, and delaying it over, and over again with a variety of excuses. Well, I finished it and sent it out to a few agents. It's more than likely that nothing will come of it, but I FINISHED it - it's one of many goals I plan to accomplish now that my formerly-wasted energy is redirected to good, healthy things. Wishing you all a happy, fun and peaceful weekend. And, looking forward to hearing about how all of you have made dreams come true thanks to sobriety.

Yay, I love it! What a great thing to do, and for sure the finishing it is what you should be proud of. However, I hope you have luck getting it published.

Good work on your recovery.

Hooray! I am jealous, but happy for you. I would like to write a novel someday. Was it hard? Wow, six years' worth--that's really great!

Now, if I could just finish this screen play. Best of luck with the book!

Wonderful! I wish you the best of responses from the publishing weenies. I too am a writer and have enough for a book of poetry and at least two or three books. But I keep it for myself and a bunch of folks who like my writing style and discover it on my website. I think that perhaps that is a worthy goal. I do have the time to find the time now. Thanks for the reminder. We have nothing to lose because if we can write, we must. Even when we feel like we are bleeding through our fingers.

Well done! I'm about to apply for my writing masters and start a novel after years of drunken procrastinating. Inspiring to hear your story, you must be so proud.
