TOPIC: Louisianian's In SR and Your On States Represented 
Do you get excited when you see another member here in SR respresenting
your own state in recovery? I know I do
each time I spot someone here from my
own state of Louisiana.
Share your state and see who is also
recovering with you and know you are
not alone here in SR.

I was born and raised in Baton Rouge, La.,
relocated to Houston for 10 with my little
family before returning back home to B.R.
in '06. Those 10 yrs. in Houston for me was
hard and unhappy ones because, I had to
leave my recovery support system I was
in for the first 7 yrs. of my sobriety and
the familiarity of my life. My heart was always
in Baton Rouge and never in Houston.
Today, I am grateful and blessed to be back
where I have always wanted to be. Baton Rouge.

I'm in Houston, Texas. I was born here, and aside from a year in Angola, Africa, haven't lived anywhere else. I like it here during the months of September through May. The summers make me want to move to Alaska.

Houston is a nice city to live in and
is extremely hot during the summer.
And to think I use to round up all those
shopping carts in the H.E.B grocery store
lot being exposed to all kinds of weather.
I used to say they paid me to exercise...lol
Lots of opportunities definitely available
for a growing family and kids which was
a plus for my little family moving there
from here. Also good places to eat.
If you were to ask me what I miss the
most after leaving Houston, id probably
say Bear Creek Park where I enjoyed
my time walking or jogging around the
soccer and baseball fields. In the Fall
I would spot a deer or 2 from time to time
close to the track and would be so excited.

I get PM's every once in awhile or see someone from North Carolina, I think it's really great to connect with others in the same state. I'm also formally from Wisconsin, so whenever I see someone from there I'll send a little shout-out to them.
