ya know,i think some of the fear i had was because i thought there were going to be the same trash talkin, cold hearted drunks like i hung with. i was right! but i never met any of them folks at the meeting when i drank and they werent trash talkin drunks any more.

Good for you fairenough...I admire your courage. It is strange how scared we are to go to that first meeting...But I probably walked right into 100 places to get a drink I should have been terrified to walk into. And never even give it any thought.

Thanks. Yep I cried, too. Sort of silently.lol. probably goes along with my tendency to want to appear in control, although I'm not.Like when I'm stinkin' drunk, can't see straight, but no one realizes it. It went great! Wonderful people. Glad it went well for you, too.

Thanks for all the good wishes, everyone. It was surprisingly crowded for an early afternoon mtg, and very welcoming. I will go again, especially since tonight I'm having a rough time.I'm sure many struggle with, "can I really do this?"

Don't overthink it.all that matters is that you can do it today. I love when they ask if anyone has n AA or bellybutton birthday and after we celebrate those we all celebrate that we have today. I keep a 24 hour coin in my pocket every day because every day i earn it!
