First time here...
Hi everyone. I am new to this. My drinking is out of hand & I can feel myself slipping further into alcoholism. I'm mother to a gorgeous toddler and I need to get better for her. My husband deserves the best of me. I deserve the best of me. This is so hard and I'm so mad at myself for letting myself get to this point....
I have kept my drinking a secret and this forum is my only source of support at this point.
I look forward to recovering with and am grateful for all the support I'll find here.

Welcome to SR KitKat0398....Don't get mad at yourself for getting to that point...I got there too and I didn't even see it coming. That's how it happens....Take those emotions and steer them to getting better....Do what you have to do to get alcohol out of your life...Use this site...Get outside support...Whatever you have to do. I'm glad you are here....Just facing the problem is a great start.
Welcome to SR KitKat
There are a lot of great people around. I lived on SR for a couple months when I first got sober. I knew how to drink...I did not know how to stay sober. People here had something I wanted
Glad you found us

Welcome KitKat!
Alcoholism affects SO many good people - it just seems that a certain portion of the population can't drink without eventually becoming addicted. We're all part of that group, so we have to stick together and help each other out.
You've already taken a big first step by coming here!:ghug3

Don't be too hard on yourself ... we understand where you're coming from because we've been there. Alcoholism has a way of creeping up on a person ... it's cunning and sneaky that way. At least you recognize it now and are ready to get better. That's the first step.
Welcome to our wonderful family.

Hi Kit Kat
I certainly remember how disgusted I was in myself, but I don't believe alcoholism is a character defect.
In recovery, you can live the life you want and get the old you back - with some brand new improvements
You'll find a lot of support here - welcome
