Welcome to the forum. You can do this. i can relate to how you are feeling,enough is enough kind of thing. No better time than the present.
I have stayed sober with the support of AA and this forum.

Good luck tonight. Social events can be tough at first..... I stayed away from things like that for a while, but I guess it's pretty hard when you're doing the entertaining. Something I've done that seems to work is to stay busy, take photos, help serve, focus on the people there..... anything that can take your mind off alcohol/yourself. Thinking about waking up without a hangover is a great motivator, too!

Wooohoooo!!!! I made it!!
Went to bed sober, woke up smiling like a fool.
This morning my darling husband told me how proud he is of me and that he'll be behind me 100% no matter what happens.
The party was really hard for the first few hours. Every time someone would ask if I wanted a drink, I had to fight myself for a minute. Finally I got a soda, put it in a koozie and I would just say "Got one thanks."
Pretty soon most of the people there were drunk and I got to watch them act stupid and I was just thankful that I wasn't a participant anymore.
Thank you all so much for your kind words and support. I believe that reading here yesterday played a huge role in getting me through.

The nearest town is 15 miles away and they have them, but I couldn't get there attend a meeting and get back in time for guests. I am going to a meeting when I get off work tonight. I think it's probably really important to have some local support.
I also plan on finding a couselor tomorrow.
I have a rage problem that needs to be addressed.

As long as you play it cool like you did yesterday, today should be as positive.It's a lot better to wake up smiling then to wake up and feel nauseous.I do apologize about the name mistake Zada I could have sworn I saw Zara.
