Is it really a relapse if I was only sober for 2 days?
I am having a really hard time this week. When I first posted on here about 3 weeks ago, I was determined that it was finally time for me to stop drinking, once and for all. I managed to make it 17 days before drinking. I got drunk that day, but not falling down, completely incoherent drunk. No, I apparently saved that for last night. I just don't know what the hell is wrong with me. I feel so weak and powerless.
Is it really a relapse if I was only sober for 2 days?
IMO, no. puttin down the alcohol doesnt make a person sober, just dry. sobriety involves change and nothing changes if nothing changes.
I feel so weak and powerless.
IMO, that is what is wrong with ya.but there is a solution!! do you want to get sober and are ya willing to do whatever is necessary to get sober???

It's not a prerequisite - but a lot of us falter - I certainly did.
After you look at what happened and work out what you might be able to do better next time you're tested, I'm not sure yesterday matters too much - not as much as today does
You can do this bulldawger - give it your all

It can be overwhelming at first, but keep plugging in. Stay in today and don't think of anything else besides Not picking up. If we want to be anything or go anywhere in our lives we must keep the drugs out. As an addict I kept relapsing in the beginning because i wanted change.overnight. Keep it simple,One day at a time,EASY DOES IT! Those cleche's make sense now
Learning that we are powerless over alcohol is the first step. That's a GOOD thing if you can admit that to yourself. You're not out of the game yet because you keep coming back. Deciding not to drink, for me, is a daily decision I have to make ... sometimes it's an hourly one, and sometimes its minute by minute. But it can be done. You're not hopeless unless you quit trying.
You have today.

I couldn't get sober by myself, I tried for years.
I finally got sober and have stayed sober in the fellowship of Alcoholics Anonymous.
Google and read AA's "How It Works" and "The Doctors Opinion" .... see if you can identify with what's written.
All the best.
