3-glasses of wine a week , you gotta be having a laugh.

At 140 days sober today Feel back to my normal good positive self.

Made even better when I read thing like this .

Don't drink more than 3 glasses of wine a week: Oxford study claims slashing the official alcohol limit would save 4,500 lives a year | Mail Online

I have had some down days, but there is light, I am never going back to it no matter how bored or socially inadequate I feel at this present time .

keep on climbing upwards and do not look down !

3 glasses of wine a week, now that would be a form of extreme torture.

Congrats on 140 Days...DarkDays...Hopefully 140 bright days. I can't even wrap my head around 3 drinks a week....Sounds so foreign to me.

The only hope of that to have worked for me would be to administer all 3 intravenously, at once. Agreed, it would be a pricktease.

Agree 100% even for a very social drinker, what would be the point.

ON radio this morning some scientist really going on about how dangerous alcohol is even in small doses to our system, makes me feel good to here things like that, and so good that I am excluding this poison from my system for EVER.

Have a good day !

oh geez! A girl I work with said she went to the casino Friday and had "A" glass of wine. After an hour or so she went home, went to bed because she had so many things to do the next day! That blew my mind!

1 glass is not an option for me. When i start drinking what I am supposed to do the next day...I could careless about.

Right! And what's funny is that the advice is for three SMALL glasses of wine, like 4-6 oz for us non-metric folks.

But but but my wine glass used to go all the way to the top!

Rock on sober peeps!

It's a poison. That's why researchers want people not to take it. But history, culture and industry have tried to hide that fact from us.

This thread has given me the giggles. The allowed quantity of glasses per week is relative to the amount of seconds that it would take for me to drink them. For me, this puts into perspective the gulf between a social drinker and myself.

Frances...too funny....I was skiing up north one year, and every place we ate at had these little marks on the wine glasses that the servers could not go over when pouring wine. ( for real). I asked our server to please fill my glass all the way UP. He said they were not allowed to do that. I said, okay, then bring me four of these glasses filled to the little line because I am going to quickly "slam" this first one. He said he couldn't do that either. We just decided to drink at home from that point on.....in our very large and very full wine tumblers! .....3 small glasses of wine use to be my "appetizer" to morning coffee. sick

Well, I don't drink... wine. Sorry, I can't help putting the pause in there. But seriously, if you'd said 3 beers... no, can't get my head round that.
When I only drank at events, that would be if there wasn't much time, or not much beer. After that... heh. Nope.
And I've just realised, that's 1.3 units each. That's about 1/2 pint. 3 halves a week? Please, somebody's having a laugh.
Mind you it is in the Daily Mail. Reading the Daily Mail gives you cancer. Well, they say everything else does, so I'm going to say that their scaremongering paper does. :p
Oh well. I've quit now, so I don't care anymore

I LOL'd when I watched the news this morning!
This and the price-hike per unit that would make a 2.99 bottle of cider abour 8 quid!
SR is going to be packed to the rafters soon!

Three glasses of wine a week?

ha ha ha yaup! that really works! That would be like taking scheduled medication.

I thought the point of drinking was to get drunk. You either drink, or you don't drink. My husband is also one of those that can drink half a glass and not have any for the rest of the year, heck, for the rest of his life.

But I'm glad he's that way. I can't imagine what it would be like for me if he drank when I stopped.

Lol -- Three glasses per WEEK?! I thought I was practicing moderation when I at one point had cut back to three glasses per DAY. Oh, my. This is why I love this forum; you guys get it.

One of my friends drinks a glass of wine once in a while, and sometimes doesn't feel in the mood to finish a single glass. Seriously, she can take a few small sips and then set her glass down and leave the rest. I look at her and wonder, what parallel universe did she beam in from?
