Day 3

Thanks for all the good advice last night.Once again, I did not sleep but all of the symptoms that I had yesterday: sweats, shakes and hallucinations I have not had today yet. After reading everyones post I am sure that this isnt the end of the withdrawals but a break from the seats was great

In the last 6 weeks I have drank twice which sucks but I back at it. When I first quit I had all those symptoms. They do get better. I hated the sweats. How can you sweat and be cold at the same time? huh. Remember today is just one day. Drink lots of water and stay busy.

Hang in there Stacy...You're doing great...Prayer doesn't hurt. It calmed me down a lot in the early days. Now I can pray for you.

I am day four into no drinking. Have experienced sweats, anxiety, inability to focus, depression, exhaustion as well as lack of great sleep, and when I do, the dreams are very unusual and short.

I have no interest in anything yet, so found this forum in hopes of sharing my plight.

How long can this go on? I was drinking two bottles of wine daily, built up over 5 years time due to depression. Never realized the repercussions.

Usually 5 days to a week you should start evening out....Most medical detoxes are 3 to 5 days.

The anxiety I feel and the racing thoughts are phenomenal.

I am in the process of getting my son who is a heroin, alcohol addict out of the house, AGAIN. He has been depressed since a little boy, and I know I have enabled him but I need to do this to save his life. The stress I feel makes me want to just have another glass of wine to calm me, but I know this has not worked, so am struggling to stay put.

Just remember...You having a drink isn't going to help him at all...Just take care of yourself and try to get through today without a drink...Hang in there.
