Nature
Today after seeing a baby bear (http://www.soberrecovery.com/forums/...baby-bear.html) it made me realize how precious life and nature really is. The bear showed innocents, beauty, curiosity, and a will to see the world as it is.
Being a little over 7 months sober and loving life and nature more than ever, I find that being outside and enjoying my sobriety has brought me to a whole new level of appreciation for the person I am. I may be shy, which I'm breaking out of the shell on little by little, but back when I was drinking I was nothing more than a social recluse. The beauty of this world is what you make of it, personally the mountains were my stepping stone for understanding how amazing and beautiful nature really is.
I'm glad and very appreciative of SR and all of the people here. My recovery would of been impossible without this forum.

Good Work on your 7 months, Gerbosko I love all the creatures of our planet and am so lucky to live out in the country with pheasant, quail, elk, deer, owls, coyotes, even had a baby porcupine out back in a pine tree last year. I love feeling grounded and nature helps me with that. When I was a drunk I seldom saw/remembered any of it.

Thanks everyone and I'm glad to see everyone enjoying nature and having a deeper respect for life.
I love hiking but I haven't been camping for years!

I find that being away from my daily life, in a remote park on a lake, lets my mind wander, empty of the monkey chatter. I can turn down the thoughts, and turn up the awareness, the consciousness. A feeling of peace starts to build inside, and brings me a sense of renewal.
A clear moonless night, hundreds of miles from any town or city, lets me focus on the immense emptiness of the sky that is still full, if I will only just slow down and experience it.
