Here I go starting day 2 sober
Well I made it 24 hours and working on a new day. Today I have out patient and the demon within was already plotting to sneak to the liquor store when I get dropped off. I keep telling myself to fight the urge. Becuase I'm just going to feel like crap tomorrow if I drink. And all the problems I have now will still be there.
Change everything. Go home and write a journal, find a hobby, exercise, clean something, read a book, listen to speaker tapes, do anything BUT what you want---go against the words in your brain, in fact, don't go in your brain. You are banned from there. You defeat the work of the out patient thing....
Stay stopped, YOU are WORTH it!
I wish you well,

I'm only on Day 4, so I don't have a lot of great advice other than hang in there! I like what sugarbear said: Don't go in your brain. So true! Just think about tomorrow morning, that's what's getting me through.

Hi Edat! Your last two sentences say it all. Nothing will be made better if you pick up. You already know what it takes some people years to realize. I was very slow at figuring out alcohol wasn't my friend - it was destroying me and stealing my soul.
You can stop relying on alcohol to fix things. You can face up to your problems and solve them with a clear head. We all believe in you.
