Made it to 1 month yesterday
Wow, and what a month it has been.. I keep thinking it feels like eternity since I've had a drink and it's only been thirty one days. I got a ton of stuff done in the last month and I've probably been awake twice as much between getting out of work time and midnight, drank about a hundred and fifty less drinks in the last month (zero being how many i've had) and over the last 8 and a half months, I've been sober for 7 of those months (about a thousand less drinks). i noticed there are a lot of new people here since i signed up last year, and would just like to say a collective hello to everyone, hang in there new people, sober is such a good feeling. here's what is working for me.
1. I can never ever drink again, period, drinking is not an option.
2. when I get complacent, don't.
3. go back to step 1.
Even if I just don't drink and remain a dry drunk, it's ten times better than drinking.
Dan.

Thanks! you guys are like the heavy hitters.. I honestly don't think i would last without your wisdom and support. I especially like to take advantage of mondays where the pain level here is the highest.. (is that bad?)

Congratulations, OCDDan!
Monday was four weeks for me. Feeling great...calm and confident. Made it through a 50th birthday BBQ and an after work event as well. Just keep reminding myself that if I have one I'll want ten.
Continued strength and peace to you...and to me and to all of us.

I felt real joy for you reading your post.
There is so much more to do huh? Thirty turns into sixty turns into forever.
I will keep your lessons on the tip of my tonge.
Congrats!
Ken
