Alcohol or No alcohol

I've been a drunk since age 14. It's hard to believe that at age 19 I realized now I have a problem. Failing out of college and having to go to court for alcohol realized that I'm not okay. Right now, I'm just looking for support. Something I don't have. Anybody have any tips? Ideas? Things to help me get through this process?

AA's been working for close to 80 years....... I frickin hated AA and ppl in 12-step programs - seemed like weak losers to me.

.....haha.......getting forced in there changed my life for the better in about 1000 ways. Wish I would have had the courage to walk in and give it a try in my 20's.

welcome to SR planetmeezy
You'll find a lot of support encouragement and ideas here

Cleaning up at age 19 would be an *awesome* thing...you could do worse than to hang out here for a while and read and post around.

Are you interested in face to face/reallife support too?

AA is a great place to start! Not sure if they have this where you live, but in CA they have "Young People's AA" and you will see you are not alone in this. I've seen 19 year olds celebrate years of sobriety....it is doable!

Welcome

As an "old" person who got sober at 52, I would certainly recommend cleaning up at 19

Lots of different things I would do, people I wouldnt hurt

Welcome planetmeezy, you will find great support here
