Used the Pity Potty Then Flushed
(((Fitz))) - I think we all have our days. Yesterday, I was in a funk. Nothing to do with addiction, just "life stuff".
Today? I had a good day. I'm over 5 years into recovery, I STILL have my "pity party" days, but I have learned how to (most of the time) last no longer than 24 hours.
My mom, who died 31 years ago, used to say "get off your pity pot" and I often think of her when I'm in a funk.
We're allowed to have bad days...everyone does. The difference is, we who are in recovery don't go to "GET NUMB" like we used to. You're doing great..bad days and all
Hugs and prayers,
Amy

Couldn't sleep so I thought
To be kind, honest and have positive thoughts; to forgive those who harm us and treat everyone as a friend; to help those who are suffering and never to consider ourselves superior to anyone else: even if this advice seems rather simplistic, make the effort of seeing whether by following it you can find greater happiness.
