Because I am sober, today I am free to: ?
Because I am sober today, I am free to have recieved a call from my Dad today, and then call him back tonight to tell him how much I love him. And cry. But not because I am a sappy drunk. I'm just naturally sappy!
I got up early this morning had a nice coffee & drove to go & watch a local tennis tournament then went to see a friend at his new house for his daughters first birthday party. We are blessed to be sober, healthy & strong.
Because I am sober today I was free to go in my old liquor store and buy Dom Perignon for my daughter and husbands special anniversary.
I spent much more money (than what that costs) in a month of my former drinking. Because I am sober I could spring for it as a special treat for them.
They are so supportive of me I was happy to buy it for a surprise. I wouldnt do this if you're not ready though...( Plus there is a seal on it so I know I wont drink it!)

Today I was free to continue work around the house and enjoy time with my family because I was not hung over without motivation and exhausted. I had energy to spare and a positive outlook. Tomorrow I am free to tackle even more.
Today I am free to see things as they really are, and not how I want them to be. Which gives me the opportunity to make real changes that can impact my life. Instead of living on in a drunken fantasy.
Because I am sober, today I was free to save money by not drinking alcohol at the lovely french restaura I was at for lunch, and spend that money on some absolutely fabulous new shoes. C'est magnifique! Lol Free to treat myself to something outrageous!!!
Because I am sober today, I was free to pick up my beloved dog at boarding today, and drive right by what had been my neighborhood liquor store and not give it a tought till just now. Free to not ROTATE liquor stores out of sheer humiliation.
