15 Days (pattin myself on the back)

I made it past my most recent sober time of two weeks, through a sad family event and hanging with my drinkin buddies, i actually feel in danger, triggers everwhere, so I'm not sure what i'll do about it besides not drink and try to remember how lousy it feels to drink, also hang out here to read the horror (and success) stories. Dan

Well done, dont be tempted back.

Spend a few minutes remembering what brought you here in the first place.
Make the right choices and keep posting!x

I'm so happy for you! You made it to 15 days. Awesome! Stay strong. I don't know if you are working AVRT or AA, but something needs to be worked. This disease wants us dead. Today, I choose to live. Something keeps my heart beating....

Keep moving forward! Look forward to those sober boating trips! Everything is better sober!

Hugs,

Congrats Dan! It's great to stay grounded by reading those stories. Whenever i feel tempted by "one beer" i go read the story in the Big Book about the alcoholic in recovery who started putting an ounce of whiskey in his milk (yuck!) thinking he could moderate and fell right off the wagon. Or similar stories i've read here and heard at AA. Sobriety is too fragile and precious.

Thanks everyone for the encouraging words. Just like the last time i sobered up for two weeks, it feels like eternity since I've had a drink, I guess my life will seem longer at this rate.. thanks again, oh and Sugarbear, i think i'm selling the boat, too many triggers going on down there. :(

Well done Dan :) x

Proud of you, Dan! As you said, just keep remembering where you've come from and how horrible it was in the end. You don't need to go back there. :)
