Making homemade Mexican chicken soup....washing bedding...but just so sad...really rough day

Hang in there....

New life, I was told April 3rd that my iron is super high due to my liver not functioning as it should. I was told absolutely no drinking till my next appointment June 7th. I have not been perfect and feel down today due to my failures as well.

If the Dr tells you something you do not want to hear take a deep breath. Realize it is always better to understand issues with our bodies early so we can work to treat or improve our conditions.

I have gained strength for your post today. Know that I am thinking and routing for you as well.

I also cook when I need to sooth my emotions.

Check back in after the visit. I would like to know.

Ken

Stay positive. Remember drinking can only make matters worse. Hope you feel better!

Ken, get checked for hemochromatosis, get the genetic test. Drink doesn't always cause high iron in people, but hemochromatosis always does. I have it. Do yourself a favour and get the test. You can order it online if you have to.........the quicker the diagnosis, the less damage to your organs.

I felt sure I'd be told the same thing Anew - I'd not taken care of myself at all for 20 years - but the results of my checkup were good.

Don't let fear own you - you're doing a good thing & its the right thing - after this is over you can set your mind at ease

best of luck
D

I heard many moons ago that lifting
weights wards off diseases. So ive been
lifting weights for a many years in my
own home.

I invested in free weights and a bench
and refuse to part with them.

However, it didnt stop me from becoming
an alcoholic in recovery 21 yrs ago, but it
has kept me healthy and strong at 50ish yrs
old.

At least your going back to the docs sober Anew, that must feel great!

The body has amazing healing powers so I wouldn't worry too much, and it is likely it won't be as bad as you think x

Well done on 8 days x
