Thanks for sharing your thoughts and perspective. I had a strange thought when I read your post and some of the answers. I realized that I my not make 18 years sober myself, as I am at the age where 18 years may not remain in my life.

I so hope your post brings that point home for some. We say that it is never too late a lot. Maybe we need to say more often that it is never too early to quit.
