Time off of Work

I know this has been brought up before, but I think it's worth mentioning again.

This week I have Thursday and Friday off of work. I'm super excited to relax and get some errands done and play some music, but none of these things would be possible if I were still drinking. When I was drinking I pissed away my time off at work taking "sick days". If I did actually schedule a day off I would end up drinking all day and not even remember it.

Today I have a lot less madness in my life, and I was pleasantly surprised to discover that I have barely used any of my PTO so far this year. I can actually take a day off because I deserve it, not because I'm too sick to go in.

Just one more thing for the newcomers to look forward to in sobriety.

Thanks Josh...I'm with you there. Spent many pto days I felt I deserved to work on the house only to **** it away and feel worse. My birthday is next week I'm taking the day off and spending it sober this time....good reminder. Enjoy your weekend!
