A small paragraph but brought tears to my eyes because right now I am in despair and don't believe I'll ever be able to put the pieces of my life back together again.

I'm just over 2 months, a year seems so far away.....

Thank you.

Congratulations...its not easy but its worth it!

Im just about 15 months in and have done a 360 from my relationship, location and job. I changed everything when I changed my drinking mind.

Keep moving forward...

@Lanchel...I don't know how many pieces your life is in. I know mine was a scattered mess. Pick up one piece and deal with it. Then pick up another, then another. Pretty soon the pieces are picked up and can be more easily placed back into your life.
Still, everyday, I pick one thing I don't like to do, one thing I like to do and one thing I should do and I try to do them. Maybe I don't accomplish them all but the intention is there. That's all that matters -intention.
Patience is also another wonderous thing to own. Life does not move the way I expect it to...it moves the way it should and I've learned not to fight it. It works that way and everything falls into place when I have faith, patience and keep positive that no matter how bad things are they were worse when I drank.
Wishing you peace and strength.

sapling its time and complete honestly. if you have a slip pick yourself off dust yourself off and start again. AA is a must imo and if needed rehab. At the end of the day you will only do it if you want for you!! I found that out no matter how much you hurt your babies or loved one unless you wanting this for you you wont win
every hour every second becomes a day away from alcohol.

Yeah I use AA myself...10 months today. How about detox? I did go to rehab and did a supervised detox there. Did you detox on your own? The reason I ask...I see a lot of people here doing that.

well i tried on my own but didnt work
I needed to have my "life" taken off my hands so to speak and did a four month rehab but that didnt work. I finally decided I wanted to live and love life.
Sapling give it one day at a time be honest with yourself and also forgive yourself as well
I dont be any means claim Ive finally won that I know it all far from it!!! And also I knew that I will allways be one drink from a slip as it takes only one drink for that spiral down hill (
