1 Year Today
I am happy to report that I have made it one year. It seemed impossible one year ago. Life is so much better. The first 90 days or so were the hardest but after that I began to regain my wife's trust and my true friends began to accept that I no longer drink. Now that it has been a year I am not sure when I had time to drink so much. Every morning is also a blessing waking up with no hangover.
If it helps anyone I have participated in a Step Study with Celebrate Recovery (we meet once per week) and the first 90 days I met with an addiction therapist weekly and now meet every six to eight weeks. I also made an effort to attend church which I have started to enjoy.
Even though I only post every one in a while I also read SR almost every day and it has been great way to keep me motivated and on track. Good Luck to everyone- just stick with it!

Congratulations man! I am back at Day 3 but it's great to see your post on one year! I totally get the regaining of your wife's trust. Please use rebuilding that trust as a daily inspiration and motivation to keep putting the distance between you and the booze!
Thank you for the post!

Congratulations on One Year!
And thanks for the mention of Celebrate Recovery. I found one about 10 minutes away on Friday nights that I intend to check out. I had never heard of this before but it sounds like something I may enjoy.
