Family Member Dying
I have close family member that is in a hospice dying of cancer. We went to see her yesterday and she is completely unrecognizable from her former self. She was a truly great woman and found out only about a year ago that she had pancreatic cancer. For her, and those afflicted with such a terrible disease, she had no choice that could actively put it into remission. We, on the other hand, have that choice to make every day, when we decide if we will use or not. We can put our cancer into remission . . .
Ethos,
I am so very sorry you and your loved one is going through this. I have often thought about how unfair it was that my really cool twin brother (super popular high school history teacher, track coach)died of a brain tumor (in hospice) practically unrecognizable, blind, and paralyzed at the end. He lived life to the fullest, and, well, let's just say I wasted a lot of time. Still to this day, and I imagine it will always be so - when I start feeling sorry for myself that it is so unfair that I am an alcoholic, etc., I just think about my brother Jeff - who died in the prime of his life through no fault of his own, fighting to the very end.
I am so sorry for your pain. You will never forget the pain, but you can learn to live with it....somehow. God Bless you.
