Thumbs up Met some amazing people this week..

I finally took the advise given to me by some amazing people here and went to some meetings this week...2 different locations. I ended up meeting some great women at both and have a temporary sponsor and numbers of others who have about the same days sober as me...

Thank you to those of you who told me to get involved and plug in to a program. I know I have a long road ahead and I know how stubborn I can be, but I really want to give this my all...

The depression is lifting a little. I have been taking SAM-e (natural supplement for mood) all week, but I think a lot of it is just starting to adjust to being clean and surrendering to the fact that I HAVE to develop coping skills that do not involve chemicals or alcohol...
Happy Saturday my SR family

Thanks for bringing that experience back here to the forum to share. Perhaps by doing so you will help just one more person face that fear (any lurkers out there?).

By walking into a room full of people with our common problem you have taken a huge step. Many happy returns.

Yes, no judgement... very cool. The old timers are awesome. The lady who is my (temp?) sponsor has been sober since 1983, still works the program, though... I'm learning that I am embarking on a lifetime commitment.

But a much better commitment than drinking....It can change your life. I'm glad you met some nice people.
