OH MY GOD! What a night of sleep!

Last night was the first real sleep in 7 days after 5 nights of drunken "sleep" and then 2 nights of the sweats and trying to sleep (ya'll know how that is) I slept from 1 a.m last night till 12:30 p.m. today.

The folks at my meeting last night were encourageing me to come to a mens meeting this morning at 9. I was honest and told them about the last 7 days and that I would probably/hopefully not be up at 9 a.m. today.

They smiled and said "we know what thats like".

Told them I would see them tonight at 8 for the speakers meeting.

Congrats on the sleep. Ever since my psych tweaked my meds and got me on the right mix and amount, my sleep has been amazing. What a help a good night's sleep does for recovery! I wish you many more restful nights.

Yep since stopping drinking a 100 days ago ( yeh I know, keep mentioning it :) ) sleep is
Probably the best it's ever been in all my life. Plus if I don't sleep or have afew bad nights it's really easy to handle if your sober .

Sleep, What's sleep!. The sweating and tossing and turning! Never want to go through this again. It's sheer torture.
At what Day does this stop? I'm into my second week now!

At about 2 weeks my sleep stabilized. Drinking Sleepy Time Tea and getting lost in a great book were life savers for me, as well as a nature sound machine that I find really relaxing. My sleep normalization is a big motivator in me maintining my sobriety. I like my zzzzz's!

Nonblondchef - Sleepytime Extra is da bomb! It really helps me!

Bonnie1 - i have horrible insomnia and had to be prescribed medication by my psychiatrist (no Ambien or other hallucinagins as i have a history of abusing them) and that's done me a world of good. You may want to look into getting help. Also, valarian root extract is a herbal remedy that helps (it's in Sleepytime Extra tea by Celestial Seasonings) and melatonin can help with sleep. Good luck.
