Glad you're here 12skip, the first few months are really difficult, lots of mental games and general discomfort. It'll pass, unfortunately it takes time.
As far as whether you are truly an alcoholic, only you know the answer. But I suspect most people who aren't alcoholics have never even asked themselves the question.
