Accidental Alcohol related death

I spoke with a woman yesterday, who's daughter in law aspirated on alcohol while taking anti-anxiety meds. Her husband found her in bed dead. This was 6 yrs ago. Her boys were 7 & 13 at the time. She said the 7 yr old, now 13 is very distant. They took him to therapy but he's very against talking about it. She said she's worried about him. How he's going to turn out .. Sigh..

I only share this b/c that could soooo have been me.....or you.
My child would grow up w/ out a mother & be traumatized for life.

Alcohol is pure evil. It does not care whose life it ends or ruins. I'm sure she had no intention of dying that way.
She probably had a bad day at work, stress from the kids. She probably thought I'll take a pill, wash it down with some vodka & feel much better. Just chill out a little. Then one drink becomes 2, then 6, into oblivion.

I doubt she knew that would be the last time she would see her husband or boys again.
You never know where "just one more drink" is going to take you.
So don't take it.

Alcohol is a depressant and can do this on it's own.

It is sad to know that alcohol is deadly for many of us.

Prayers to those people and to you, Purplecatlover,

No, but I'm pretty sure it won't be to a good place...

This could have happened to me, and I was quite young at the time, didn't think I was such a bad alcoholic, but I've done things like left the stove on, woken up in my own vomit, etc. *There's a reason why they warn you not to take certain pills with alcohol*, mixing them was easily the worst phase of my addiction.

That's a very good reminder. It could have been me too. I'm so glad I'm here today, and still committed to not drinking. I want to always remember what drinking did and could have done to me.

Thanks for that post. Sometimes we need a rough reminder of why we cannot pick up that first drink.
