Missing the small things in life

Im new to this so bear with me,im 8 days into kicking a 4 yr pain killer addiction and i have lost appreceation for the the things i used to do hobbies, fun, just taking a walk, fresh air, it seems like im either withdrawing or trying to get right again after using, im sick of the ups and downs. I hope this is normal and with time it has to get better.

In the same boat mate, lately all it seems is I'm withdrawing, or stuck in that nasty brain fog when you realise you have to start feeling and thinking about things again.

Hi and welcome to SR justwant2quit

I'm an alcoholic but I think, regardless of the addiction, it takes time for our minds and bodies to heal...

8 days is great, but it may take more time

D

TIME....Things I Must Earn. I think you will find...Given time....That you haven't lost the appreciation of those things....Rather you haven't even found it yet. Hang in there and don't pick up.

Welcome...
At over six months sober, I find that I now enjoy doing things I really didn't before. Give yourself a break and don't stress over it for now, you will get back to living life again.

Welcome to SR. It's good to have you here. I have a history of abusing prescription meds. Struggling with it right now as a matter of fact. I have genuine chronic pain, but I don't need anywhere near the amount I'm using.
