Question Change my mind a lot!

I keep changing my mind about things. One day I think and feel one way then the next day it's a whole new viewpoint. I am all over the place lately.

I know it's a woman's perogative LOL but... ! It's making me a little nutz.

I've been sober about a month. Can anyone tell me when things settle down a bit or if this even happened to them in their first month?

I think you can blame that on the alcohol...I'm a guy and I was all over the map that early in sobriety.

I used to be like that too - then one day I realised I was going with my gut a lot more, & I was trusting what I was thinking...

I think a lot of it was my world and my thoughts simply not being coloured by alcohol anymore...

took a few months tho

A hand written journal comes in handy about now. It will calm down. It really will.

Hugs,

Unfortunately I have always been that way to a certain degree. It really got bad when I was drinking, and then came back in early sobriety. Give it time! You won't believe how a few sober months starts to even out those crazy chemicals in your head. It will get better, I promise.

I was an emotional wreck for the first 3 - 4 weeks... I recall multiple occassions where I had strong feelings about a particular topic and the next day either reverse my opinion or have no opinion whatsoever. For me, this problem seemed to take care of itself shortly after the first month.

Seek advice if you need to make an important decision.

I think your emotions will settle down as your body/mind/spirit continue to heal... Hang in there!

You have to figure you'll only hear that sentence on a recovery site.

Yeah. The emotions turning on is crazy. How ridiculous is a 52 year old bald man getting teary-eyed oner Sarah McLachlan singing about abused animals?
