It's amazing how much we see, hear, smell,
taste differently when we are clean and sober.

We view ourselves in a brighter light. We look
in the mirror and it's clean. Our eyes see
shades of color that use to be grey and dull
to pretty colors of the rainbow.

Our ears hear sounds that are crisp and clear
unlike the sounds of a deep well or closed in
drum or box.

Noses that smell flavorable foods, fragrant
flowers, fresh cut grass. Purfumes.

Mouths that tastes sweets, garden fresh veggies.
Or we speak kind, considerate words to another.

The list can go on forever as you know.

With your sober/clean EYES, EARS, NOSE, MOUTH,
what things in your life have come alive for you?
What favorite scenery has become something
special to look at? What foods tastes the best?
What smell drives you crazy for more? What sound
has become one you look forward to hearing
again and again? A song. A bird? A park? A drive?
A mountain? A beach? Steak? Seafood? A whisper?
Etc......


Being sober or clean will not only give you things
to look forward to but also favorite things you miss.

Dan, i just read my first post which was
yours right after taking a motorcycle ride
this afternoon. You poured ur alcohol out,
something u havent done in 40 yrs.

So many awesome things will begin to
happen to you each day you stay sober.
It may not seem like much, but smelling
nice and not like brewry is a good thing.

94 days sober and I have been getting strange smells and thoughts coming back to me, not all the time , but like Glimpses that catch me every now and then, like I remembering things from a time before I started drinking 32 years ago.
