Legalage...You can walk free if you so desire. It is absolutely within your power to live a happy life without alcohol, without the exhausting pain and chaos that addiction creates.
Heres the thing. You can sit there and complain about feeling miserable or you can stop. If you really want to quit, just do it and think to yourself "I will not let a liquid control me." If you keep convincing yourself it is ok to drink, then what is going to change? No one can take the burden of alcoholism away from you except for YOU. Whenever you decide you are truly willing to stop, you have support. Don't continue to slowly kill yourself. Alcoholism is not a way to live. Make the decision to be happy today. Best wishes to you.
Hi legalage
for a long time I didn't feel I deserved good stuff either...but a lot of that was my addiction.
Maybe you don't need to believe you deserve a better life right now...you just have to act to make changes to get out of the hole you're in...the belief will come later.
Do something different today - think about the various avenues of support - whether it's seeing your Dr, or a counsellor, or rehab, or a programme like AA, SMART, Rational Recovery, LifeRing...whatever.
