Trying To Spread My Recovery Wings

I'm trying to focus not on not drinking but rather focus on what I can do and who I am as a sober person. One thing I've started doing (after thinking about what I'm really good at and enjoy doing), is I'm doing email correspondance (pen palling) with elderly (more than me) folks. Its really is enjoyable and my pen pals seem appreciative, plus their computer skills are about in line with mine I am interested in what others on SR are doing that positively replace the drugs/drinking? I always enjoy learning from others, thanks

Sounds like a great idea Fitz...good for you. I started volunteering at Meals on Wheels. We make and deliver food to the elderly and people who are home bound. They are so appreciative and it makes me feel good I'm giving back.

Best Wishes To You!

Hey Fitz-
I notice in my recovery as soon as I take the focus off me, and reach or lend a hand to someone, my needs aren't as loud and nagging.
