I Just did something amazing!

So check it out...this guy at work went on vacation last week, so when he does I usually fill in for some of his duties and over the last couple years he's always brought me a 12 pack of beer as a thank you...cuz we all know how much RyRy likes his cold ones. So I arrive to work today and find a 12 pack of beer on my desk as always. So what do I do? After I leave for a meeting I email my assistant and tell her to take it home or give it away I don't want it and I don't want it there in the morning. WTH? That is so not my style...I was so excited I actually had a silly excited tingle in my gut after I did that... Like the kind when your mom says "hey kids' were going to Disneyland"

Day two YOU'RE MINE!

Way to go. Sometimes we do have to look a gift horse in the mouth and say Whoa. Good job.

RyanRyan, that tingle you felt was your sober muscle getting some exercise and coming to life. Savor that feeling, and use it to make a deposit in your Sobriety Account so that you can make a withdrawal if things ever get dicey for you.

Well done, and a big hearty AttaBoy to you! Keep these stories of success and victory coming!

Great job RyRy! Those first few steps are hard, strange, exciting and so rewarding. I remember pouring out the last of my vodka. Part of me was thinking "why would you waste good vodka?" whilw the other part thought "why would you finish it?" The liberating feeling that step brings is priceless. Remember it always.

I'm lucky in that I find it a cinch to resist if it's offered on a plate.

It's when it's being actively denied to me that I get a kind of -- I dunno -- a 'resentment craving' or something.

Nice one Ryan! You sound like your confident and tackling this thing head on...I reckon you will succeed! Frame of mind is the most important thing...I'm only 3 weeks in and i feel as strongly as I did on day 2...I knew I would succeed...does that sound arrogant, if so I don't care...it's what alcohol needs...a good strong will...nothing can break that.

Good job! It's hard to turn it down, sometimes, but that's what we have to do. Well done!
