Welcome scooter. I found that a new, substitute activity in place of the cravings helped me a lot. When they would roll in, I would come here and post, read my Big Book, listen to some tunes, call a recovery friend, call a non-recovery friend, eat, smoke a cig(not reccomended but worked), walk, etc. Anything to keep my mind focused on something other than a drink.

RR/AVRT is what is helping me ignore cravings though I haven't had as much trouble with them as I used to. I still have them but they are more faint now and easily dissmisable. Good luck Bob, glad to have you here, keep posting and let us know how everything is working out for you it helped me.
