14 Days Sober!
14 Days Sober!
Hey all,
Well, it has been 14, long-fought days, but today, Monday April 9th, is 2 weeks sober for me!!!
It has not been difficult, but it has been two weeks full of sleeping, reflecting, and just garnering days under my belt. By what I have been through physically and emotionally, I have had to come to grips with how much more alcohol was a part of my life than I ever wanted to admit.
I am VERY excited because I am the type of guy who has to see some "progress". and for me, I start to feel that around 2 weeks when the days seem to add up. This does not mean I do not celebrate EVERY day sober, but to me, 2 weeks starts to be a long time (although for some I am sure 2 days starts to be a long time).
I am appreciative of the folks on here who have helped me and have shared intimate stories of their lives. This time is different because I have a PLAN. No more complacency, no more thinking one day that I am "better" and control my drinking....funny thing is, this time I realize now, more than ever, I am TOTALLY unable to control my drinking....and know what? I'm totally OK with that too.....
Happy Monday everyone. I'd love to go back to sleep but work is good for the old soul!
