NOPE! Not at all.

I've never been a day-counter. Hell, it took me a couple months to even figure out what my real last drink date was.

FOR ME, it doesn't help at all to count days......or months......or even years really. (although I do get excited when a new year gets close). I had a lot of teachers remind me, early in sobriety, that recovery is a one-day-at-a-time thing.....a 24-hour-program. From there, they explained that we have TODAY to work our program to the best of our ability. Today to work all 12 steps. Can't work yesterday's program today....no tomorrow's today....just today's today. So, if all that really matters is today......I didn't think counting days was all that important.

......I'm coming up on 5 yrs and the last 3 open talks I did......I got my OWN sobriety date wrong. LOL. One of em, I said my last drink date was two months in the future (I used the current year as the year-part).......everyone laughed.

I can never remember what weekday it is, never mind how long I have been sober...

39 days (just checked the calendar)

I have found that since I sobered up I have a few alarming gaps in my memory but I was never the best with keeping track of things.

I counted, but only because I was surprised it was happening! Now I remember my date of my last drink and use a sober calculator (there's one on the front page of SR called Sobertime). 327 days, I just checked today!

It's probably cool that you aren't keeping track, keep living sober, those days add up!

15 hours for me...

Last time counting wasn't great for me. I said 30 days without drinking and drank on the 31st day.

This time is different. This time I am going to stay clean and sober hourly... the days and weeks will take care of themselves.

congrats!
