3 weeks and a dental emergency

Today is 3 weeks sober for me. The longest period without alcohol in a little over a year!!

Unfortunately I've been having pain and swelling cuz of this one tooth. My dentist fit me in this morning and it's a crown that is infected underneath, grrr. Well really it's a blessing in disguise because it may explain my dragginess. It hit me at the end of January and I don't know if it was the odd bottle of whiskey in between all the beer or what but it went away on it's own and just came back a few days ago. So I'm glad to have an antibiotic, hopefully I'll feel better overall when the infection clears up.
Then I get to go back for the real fun.

Congrats on 3 weeks - that's awesome!

I hate teeth (!), but I'm glad you got treated and are on your way to feeling better. I found that I had no energy/motivation for a while after I got sober, but hang in there because it gets better!

Thanks for the congrats

Teeth are a major pita. Pita, pita, pita..

I'm sorting through the stack of unopened mail, mostly junk but I sorted it and the bills are not as bad as I feared they would be. Apparently I did pay some stuff in March. No utility shutoffs looming!!! Yay!!!

My dentist commented on my improving health of my gums...didn't tell him I had quit drinking..but I think he knew- you can tell a lot by a person's teeth/gum health I think.

Congrats on your sober time! I hear you on the dental thing. I just went through the fun of an infected molar. First a root canal, then anti-biotics, finally the thing just had to be yanked out. Then my dentist discovers another problem, so I'm now being fitted for a crown on the other side. In the past, I would've really amped up the drinking. So much easier to deal with these things sober
